Students enrolled in Blue or Gray Chorus will sing repertoire
from all eras of music history and explore different cultures and styles of
music. Students will also learn: (a)
vocal technique; (b) sight-singing and music reading
skills; (c) basic musicianship and independence; (d) choral rehearsal and
performance etiquette. Two concerts are presented annually.
Members of this mixed ensemble will sing repertoire from all eras of music history and explore different cultures and styles of music. The Concert Choir will sing mostly a cappella selections and will perform more challenging compositions. The Concert Choir will perform at school functions and community concerts as scheduled by the director. Membership in the Concert Choir also provides students with the opportunity to audition for LLMEA County Chorus and all PMEA Festival Choruses.
Members of this select group will explore various genres of popular choral music and prepare a show to be performed in May. Students will expand upon their knowledge of vocal technique, choral performance, and musicianship as described above, as well as their ability to DANCE! Show Choir will rehearse at 7:00 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at other designated times closer to concert time. Members will perform at school functions and by special invitation.
